Jing Luo is a Professor of French and Chinese and Director of the Chinese Program in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Writing at Bloomsburg University. She founded the Chinese Major/Minor and established a partnership with Beijing Normal University School of Chinese as Second Language.
Her education includes a Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University, and both an M.A. and B.A. from Peking University.
Research Interests:
Dr. Luo's research spans General Linguistics, Biolinguistics, Language Acquisition, Urban Studies, and China’s Political and Economic Transition. Her work in linguistics focuses on embodiment-based language teaching and linguistic interference, while her urban studies research examines global urban challenges and solutions. She also has a strong interest in Chinese culture and socio-political landscape.
Publications:
Her recent publications include the two-volume work 'Cities around the World' (2019) on urban challenges, and 'Business and Technology in China' (2010). Her research trends show a consistent focus on China's development and urban issues, as well as linguistic studies related to Chinese and French language teaching.
