Jina Huh-Yoo

Dr. Jina Huh-Yoo is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology, leading the Health and Happiness Design Lab. She holds a PhD from the University of Michigan (2011), MS from Carnegie Mellon University (2004), and BA from Korea National University of Arts (2003). Her research focuses on leveraging technology to support health through mixed methods, emphasizing human-centered AI, health informatics, and social computing. She has secured over $1M in grants including an NSF CAREER Award for AI in caregiving.

Research interests include understanding technology's role in health maintenance and social connections, employing qualitative methods (co-design, interviews) and computational analysis. She explores emerging tech like LLMs for mental health, family wellness, and caregiving support. Her lab collaborates across disciplines including medicine, nursing, and public health.
