Jim Brown

Jim Brown is the Director of the Texas Prefreshman Engineering Program (TexPREP) at Texas Tech University since 2017, with a focus on mathematics education and STEM outreach for grades 6-12. He has taught math at Texas Tech since 2003 after a long career in junior high/high school education and community college instruction.

His research interests emphasize pre-college STEM engagement, particularly through summer programs like TexPREP. He has managed day-to-day operations of TexPREP since 2004, contributing to K-12 education initiatives and community college collaborations through STEM CORE programs.
