Jim Bove is a Professor in the Department of Art at PennWest University’s California campus, where he has taught since 2005. His expertise spans Jewelry and Metals, sculpture, 3D Design theory, and ceramics, with a focus on innovative materials and technologies.
- Exhibitions: Munich Schmuck (Germany), Taiwan International Metal Crafts Competition, Cheongju International Craft Biennale (South Korea), Royal Ueno Museum (Tokyo)
- Residencies: NEAE-funded Haystack Mountain School for Crafts (Maine), Arctic Circle residency, Arrowmont’s Pentaculum residency (Tennessee), Cerdeira Village (Portugal)
His work is held in permanent collections at the Metal Museum (Memphis) and Hiko Mizuno Jewelry College (Tokyo). Awards include First Place in the International Halstead Design Challenge. He serves on the board of governors and as programming committee chairperson at Arrowmont School of Art and Crafts, and previously served on the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) board as technical editor.
