Jim Becvar

Jim Becvar is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He actively directs the PLTL (Peer-Led Team Learning) Program in chemistry, fostering student-led learning strategies and mentoring undergraduates in academic contributions. In 2024, he served as Editor-In-Chief of the online journal Advances in Peer-Led Learning (APLL), overseeing publications by current and former Peer Leaders. He also revised comprehensive 350-page workbooks for General Chemistry I and II to enhance workshop-based learning.
