Dr. Eva Deemer is an Assistant Professor at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health, based in El Paso. Her research focuses on developing innovative solutions for water treatment through selective membrane materials, electrochemical processes, and resource recovery, integrating materials science, electrochemistry, and applied engineering.
Education:
- B.S. in Chemistry (minor in Physics), University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)
- Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering
Dr. Deemer has led projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Naval Research (ONR), and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, with a focus on industrial water reuse, electro-driven separations, and PFAS remediation. Previously, she worked as a Principal Scientist at Hazen and Sawyer and as a Research Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering at UTEP.
