Dr. Jianxin Wang is an Associate Professor in the Finance Discipline Group at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Business School, where he has been affiliated since April 2011. He holds a B.Sc. from Tsinghua University (China) and a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University (USA). Prior to academia, he worked as a financial analyst in Chicago and held visiting positions at institutions including Yonsei University (South Korea), the Capital Market and Financial Institution Supervisory Agency (Indonesia), and the USSR's Central Economic-Mathematical Institute.
Research Focus: Dr. Wang specializes in volatility dynamics, liquidity modeling, and information flow analysis, with a focus on Asian emerging markets, foreign exchange markets, and currency internationalization. His work explores topics such as global volatility propagation, market distraction effects, and the interplay between commodity prices and financial instruments.
Grants & Collaborations: He has secured grants including the ARC Linkage Project on 'Information Content of Order Flows in Foreign Exchange and Commodities Markets' (2008–2011) and supervised APRI Intern projects like 'Data Story Telling from Customer & Consumer Analytics' (2021).
