Jessie Bennett is an Associate Professor in Recreation Management and Policy at UNH. Her NIH/VA-funded research examines therapeutic recreation interventions for veterans and first responders, particularly using adaptive sports. She holds a PhD from Indiana University and serves as co-editor of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association journal.
Research Focus:
- Outdoor therapies for PTSD and substance abuse
- Community-based rehabilitation programs
- Strengths-based approaches for behavioral health
Teaching: DEIJ in recreation services, therapeutic communication techniques, and practicum supervision.
