Beth Robinson is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Indiana Tech’s College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a Master of Arts in Recreation Therapy (University of Nebraska at Omaha) and a Bachelor of Science in Government (Northwest Missouri State University). Her professional experience spans nonprofit work, child abuse investigation, group home supervision, and therapeutic roles in mental health facilities.
Research interests focus on disability inclusion, therapeutic interventions in mental health, and recreational programming for vulnerable populations. She actively presents at Midwest Symposiums on Recreation Therapy and Adapted Physical Activity, as well as Recreation Therapists of Indiana (RTI) conferences.
Academic advising roles include overseeing the Bachelor of Science programs in Recreation Therapy and Fitness and Recreation. She teaches courses ranging from foundational theory to advanced administration in recreation therapy, including practicum and internship supervision. Professional affiliations include the American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) and Recreation Therapists of Indiana (RTI).
Outside academia, she champions animal welfare, outdoor exploration, and National Park visits, balancing family life with five children and multiple pets.
