Jessica Ruyle

Dr. Jessica Ruyle is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Oklahoma, affiliated with the Gallogly College of Engineering. She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2011) and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University (2006). Her research focuses on developing and characterizing electromagnetic devices, particularly antennas and packaging systems for wireless communication in challenging environments. Key interests include placement-insensitive RFID antennas, conformal designs, reconfigurable patterns, multiband capabilities, and ultra-wideband systems.

Her work emphasizes innovations in antenna performance, such as frequency agility, parametric amplification, and additive manufacturing techniques. She is affiliated with the Advanced Radar Research Center and the Radar Innovations Lab, contributing to projects like the Transportable Phased Array Radar. Dr. Ruyle’s research has led to two patents: a pattern reconfigurable microstrip antenna (M.S. work) and a placement-insensitive RFID antenna (Ph.D. work).
