Jessica Billett

Miss Jessica Billett is an Associate Lecturer in Nursing at the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health, affiliated with the College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing. Based at the Tamworth Education Centre, she supports nursing students in rural professional experience placements and serves as a simulation educator for the Rural Immersion and Study in Place Program. Registered as a Nurse since 2017, she joined the UONDRH team in 2023 with a focus on enhancing student experiences in rural healthcare environments.

Her research interests center on Clinical Education, Nursing Workforce development, and Rural Nursing, with a specific focus on rural health services. Recent work highlights innovative collaborative placement models aimed at strengthening rural nursing workforce capacity.

Jess brings a strong clinical background in emergency nursing and has contributed to experiential learning frameworks for rural placements. Her professional engagement includes designing simulation-based education programs to improve student preparedness and integration into rural healthcare systems.
