Jerry Jones is a Visiting Professor at Emory & Henry College since 2001, where he coordinates computer proficiency exams, teaches computer literacy courses (CIMT), advises freshmen, and instructs the Transitions I (ETLA) class focusing on racial identity. He holds a B.S. and M.Ed. from Virginia State University, an Ed.D. from Virginia Tech, and additional studies at institutions including the University of Memphis and Purdue University.
His research interests span computer education and the historical struggles of African Americans during segregation. His publications include Structured Programming Logic (1985) and Go and Come Again (2011), the latter documenting Virginia's Jim Crow-era social dynamics. Beyond academia, Jones is a gospel pianist, certified Methodist lay speaker, former town council member, and civic event organizer.
