Jeremy Spencer is an Associate Lecturer in Fine Art Contextual Studies at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London. He holds a PhD from the University of Essex focused on Paul de Man's role in social art history.
His research examines political approaches to visual culture, particularly avant-garde art/film and theories informed by semiology, feminism, and psychoanalysis. Recent publications analyze revolutionary aesthetics and Jean-Luc Godard's counter-cinema.
