Jeremy Sewell is a Lecturer in the Department of City Planning at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Manitoba. He holds a B.Sc. in Geography from the University of Winnipeg, specializing in GIS, remote sensing, and data analysis.
His professional expertise spans geospatial analysis, data science, and visual storytelling, with applications in urban planning, land use analysis, and community development. Since 2012, he has worked as a GIS professional, initially with the Province of Manitoba’s Flood Forecasting branch and later as a Geospatial Analyst in the Community and Regional Planning Branch of Indigenous and Municipal Relations.
Since 2019, he has taught the GIS for Planners course in the University of Manitoba’s Master of City Planning program. Currently, he serves as a Data Scientist at the Winnipeg Police Service, where he develops spatial data, apps, maps, and visualizations for internal and external clients.
