Jeremy Harrison

Jeremy Harrison is a prominent figure in theatre and music education, serving as Programme Director for Rose Bruford College’s MA Actor Musicianship and MA Theatre for Young Audiences. He leads the Theatre for Young Audiences Centre, established in 2011, which focuses on inclusive, co-creative practices with children and young people. His work bridges music and theatre, emphasizing sensory and multisensory experiences.

Education: MA in Theatre Practice (University of Manchester), BA Humanities with Music (Open University), Diploma in Acting (RADA).

Research interests include mutuality in actor training, pedagogical approaches to actor musicianship, and interdisciplinary collaborations, particularly in sensory theatre. His publications include the foundational text Actor-Musicianship (2016) and contributions to scholarly works on stage music and child-centric performance.

Awards: Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. External roles include External Examiner for MA Collaborative Theatre Production and Design at Guildhall (2020–2023), and advisory roles for the Primary Shakespeare Company and End2End TV. He leads Playground, an Arts Council England-funded initiative developing theatre through creative play for children with Special Educational Needs.
