Professor Jeremy C Phillips is affiliated with the University of Bristol as a Professor of Volcanology and Natural Hazards at the School of Earth Sciences. He leads projects under the Cabot Institute for the Environment and collaborates internationally with institutions in Ecuador, Colombia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, China, and emerging partners in Peru and DPRK.
Research Focus:
- Physical volcanology with emphasis on lahar dynamics, volcanic ash transport, and hydrometeorological hazard interactions
- Interdisciplinary risk management frameworks integrating social vulnerability and physical hazard models
