Jenny Sewart

Jenny Sewart is a part-time Tutor (BA1 Studio) at the Manchester School of Architecture (MSA), part of Manchester Metropolitan University. She combines academic teaching with professional work as a qualified architect and retrofit coordinator at Loop Systems (MCAU), focusing on community and residential/retrofit projects. Her expertise includes cohousing, codesign, and addressing social issues like fuel poverty through collaborative, people-centered design.

Academically, she achieved a first-class degree in Part I and a distinction in Part II, representing MSA in the RIBA Bronze Medals 2013. Her research interests emphasize climate resilience, social justice, and leveraging technology to bridge the performance gap in architecture while prioritizing human behavior and narratives.

Professionally, she has contributed to projects such as Hopton Court social housing and an over-50s cohousing initiative in Chorlton, demonstrating her commitment to inclusive design and community engagement. She advocates for reusing existing buildings and cooperative building models like coworking spaces and community schemes.
