Jenny Saffran

Jenny Saffran is the Rubinstein Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison's Psychology department. Her research investigates how infants acquire language, focusing on statistical learning mechanisms, cognitive processing, and environmental influences on development.

Research interests include:

• Statistical learning in infancy
• Language acquisition pathways
• Cognitive development in early childhood
• Relationship between prediction and active sampling in learning

Her recent publications explore environmental influences on word learning, linguistic processing in autistic toddlers, and methodological considerations in infant speech perception studies. She directs the Infant Learning Lab, examining how infants track patterns in linguistic input.
