Jennifer Wynne Hellwarth is Professor Emerita of English and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Allegheny College. She specializes in medieval and early modern literature, history of medicine, and gender studies. Her research examines intersections of literature, medicine, and sexuality in European and Arabic traditions.
Professor Hellwarth teaches courses including Chaucer, Cultural History of English, and interdisciplinary studies on sexuality. Her publications include 'The Reproductive Unconscious in Medieval and Early Modern England' and research on medieval conceptions of the body.
