Jennifer Stark

Dr. Jennifer Stark is an Associate Professor in Science Education at the University of West Florida's School of Education, Department of Teaching, Leadership, and Research. She joined UWF in 2014 and teaches education courses for both pre-service and in-service teachers. Her academic background includes degrees from the University of Florida:

• Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction (Science Education emphasis)
• M.Ed. in Science Education
• B.S. in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation

Her research focuses on developing science teachers' pedagogical knowledge and classroom practices, with emphasis on effective teaching methodologies for K-12 science education. She investigates strategies to enhance student engagement in scientific discourse and science literacy development through writing and discussion.

With prior experience as an elementary and middle school science teacher, Dr. Stark regularly conducts educator workshops on innovative science instruction techniques. Her work appears in prominent journals including Science and Children, Science Scope, and Professional Development in Education.

Currently teaches courses such as Teaching Science in the Elementary School, Student Teaching Apprenticeship, Teaching Applied Foundations of Education, and Curriculum Design.
