Jennifer Kinloch

Dr Jennifer Kinloch is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of the West of England (UWE), affiliated with the HAS - Health and Social Sciences department. She joined UWE in November 2023 after prior academic roles in New Zealand and the UK, including Programme Leader for Combined Psychology Programmes at Bath Spa University.

Education:

• BSocSc (Bachelor of Social Sciences)
• MAppPsy (Master of Applied Psychology)
• PhD in associative learning and derived relational responding
• Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA)

Research Interests: Focus on two main areas: (1) learning biases and their impact on decision-making for societal issues like climate change and public health, and (2) mental wellbeing in student populations, including scale validation and citizen science applications for social prescribing. Her work bridges associative learning theory, behavioral psychology, and applied societal challenges.

At UWE, she co-leads the Introduction to Psychology module and is a member of the Psychological Sciences Research Group.
