Jennifer Faulkner is a Sessional Instructor in the Department of Arts and Cultural Management at MacEwan University. With a career spanning professional dance performance and arts administration, she transitioned from stage work with Alberta Ballet and The Banff Centre to arts management roles across organizations like Axis Theatre Company and The Citadel Theatre. She has also held leadership positions, including Chair of PACE (The Professional Arts Coalition of Edmonton).
Her teaching focuses on audience development, cultural policy, advocacy, and performing arts management. She has developed case studies, course materials, and online courses for the program since 2014. Her research emphasizes market analysis, audience engagement strategies, and the intersection of arts practice with Social Determinants of Health.
Jennifer is a recipient of the New Pathways for the Arts Fellowship. Her expertise includes grant writing, strategic planning, and operational management in arts organizations. She actively mentors students and integrates critical thinking and data-driven decision-making into her pedagogy.
