Jennifer Clark

Jennifer Clark is a Professor and Head of the City and Regional Planning Section at The Ohio State University’s Knowlton School of Architecture, part of the College of Engineering. Her expertise lies in urban and regional economic development, smart cities, and innovation policy. She holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University, an MPlan from the University of Minnesota, and a BA from Wesleyan University.

Her research focuses on smart cities, regional resilience, and manufacturing industries. Major publications include *Uneven Innovation: The Work of Smart Cities* (2020), *Working Regions: Reconnecting Innovation and Production* (2013), and co-edited volumes like *Transitions in Regional Economic Development* (2018). She is a Fellow of the American Association of Geographers and Regional Studies Association, and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of *Regional Studies*.

Clark teaches courses on economic development theory and policy analysis, and has advised governments and international organizations like the OECD. Her work bridges academic research and policy practice, emphasizing inclusive innovation and regional equity. She previously directed the Center for Urban Innovation at Georgia Tech and has testified before the U.S. Congress on smart communities policy.
