Dr. Jennifer Bond is a Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at the School of Agricultural, Environmental and Veterinary Sciences, Charles Sturt University. She also serves as a researcher at the Gulbali Institute of Agriculture, Water & Environment and co-Book Review Editor for Society & Natural Resources. Her research focuses on human-environment interactions, including human-wildlife conflict and agricultural development in Southeast Asia and Australia. She holds a PhD and extensive qualifications in Agricultural Science, Rural Systems Management, and Higher Education.

Research Interests: Dr. Bond explores human-wildlife conflict dynamics (e.g., Kenya’s elephants, Victoria’s deer) and agricultural adaptation strategies in regions like Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Her work integrates climate resilience, smallholder farming, and socio-behavioral dimensions of rural development. Recent projects include ACIAR-funded initiatives on fisheries, salinity management, and ethnic minority communities’ climate adaptation.
Teaching & Outreach: She teaches environmental science and agricultural extension, emphasizing the ‘first-year experience’. International fieldwork includes student trips to Cambodia and Timor Leste, fostering global citizenship. She coordinates the FOSH Honours program’s environmental stream and supervises Higher Degree Research students.
Collaborations: Active partnerships with Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry in Vietnam include research on climate adaptation in Central Vietnam’s upland regions. Her interdisciplinary work spans natural resource management, heritage studies, and sensory perception in cultural contexts.
