Jen Taylor is the Executive Director of the Future Industries sector at CSIRO, leading research units in Agriculture and Food, Health and Biosecurity, Manufacturing, and Science Connect. Her role focuses on advancing science and innovation to support Australia's socioeconomic prosperity through collaborations with industry, governments, and universities. She previously served as Science Director and Acting Director of CSIRO Agriculture and Food (A&F), driving strategic portfolio management and advancing research in resilient farming systems, novel crops, and sustainable agriculture.
- Education: PhD in Medical Genetics (Queensland Institute of Medical Research, 2001), Honours in Biochemistry (University of Queensland, 1994).
- Postdoctoral Work: University of Oxford, Department of Statistics and Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics.
Her research interests span genomics, data science, and systems biology, with a focus on applying these to agriculture and biosecurity. She contributed to over 100 peer-reviewed articles (H-index 61) and co-developed the University of Oxford's Masters of Bioinformatics program.
