Jeffrey Parmelee

Jeffrey Parmelee, Ph.D., is a Teaching Professor at the University of New England (UNE), located at Decary 347 on the Biddeford Campus. His expertise spans evolutionary biology, ecology, and herpetology, with a primary focus on reptiles and amphibians. He teaches courses such as Human Anatomy & Physiology, Herpetology, and the Natural History of the Galapagos.

Dr. Parmelee’s research explores vertebrate natural history, conservation biology, and the impacts of human activities on wildlife. He has conducted extensive fieldwork in diverse ecosystems, including the Amazon rainforest and military reserves, and has authored studies on topics like amphibian road mortality during the pandemic and venom composition in snakes.
