About
Pablo Delis is Professor of Biology at Shippensburg University specializing in vertebrate ecology, evolution, and conservation biology. His research focuses on amphibian and reptile populations in natural and disturbed environments, particularly long-term demographic studies of Pennsylvania herpetofauna. Delis employs field ecology techniques, GIS, genetics, and molecular biology in collaborations with institutions in Florida, Spain, and NASA's Wallops Island facility. He has mentored numerous graduate students researching snake ecology, turtle assemblages, and amphibian migration patterns, and teaches courses including Herpetology, Vertebrate Zoology, and Field Research Techniques.
Research examines life-history traits and behavioral adaptations in response to anthropogenic disturbances, with conservation applications for species like Eastern Box Turtles and Barking Treefrogs. Work integrates morphological analysis, thermal biology studies, and population monitoring.
