Jeffrey M. Rosen is a Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine, and the Leader of the Breast Cancer Program at the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center. He holds a BA from Williams College (1966) and a PhD from the State University of New York at Buffalo (1970), followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (1972).
His research focuses on understanding the developmental and hormonal regulation of mammary gland gene expression, with a particular emphasis on breast cancer biology. He has developed syngeneic preclinical models of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) to study tumor microenvironment dynamics, immune evasion mechanisms, and therapeutic vulnerabilities. Key areas include Wnt/Fgf signaling pathways, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and the role of myeloid cells in metastasis.
Rosen's work bridges basic science and translational research, with studies on combination therapies targeting tumor-initiating cells and immune modulation. His lab has extensively characterized the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) using spatial profiling and single-cell analytics. Recent publications highlight strategies like CSF-1R inhibition combined with immunotherapy to enhance B/T cell responses and durable tumor regression.
