Associate Professor Jeffrey Looi is an academic neuropsychiatrist at the Australian National University (ANU), leading the Social Psychiatry and Epidemiology Research Unit. He holds dual appointments as Associate Professor of Neuropsychiatry and Old Age Psychiatry, and has served as Discipline Lead/Head of Psychiatry & Addiction Medicine at ANU's Clinical School. He is also a Visiting Guest Researcher at the Karolinska Institute (2006-2016) and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne (2015-2019). His research focuses on neuroimaging biomarkers for neuropsychiatric diseases, mental health policy, and telepsychiatry innovations.

Recent work addresses telehealth policy, electronic health record security, and workforce shortages in rural psychiatry. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Australasian Psychiatry.
