Jefferson Davis Miller

Jefferson Davis Miller is a tenured Professor in Agricultural Communications at the University of Arkansas, affiliated with the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences and the Department of Agricultural Education, Communications & Technology. His academic career spans over two decades, specializing in curriculum development, mass communications analysis, and international agricultural development.

Research Interests: Dr. Miller’s work focuses on science communication in agri-food systems, curriculum innovation, and international collaboration. His USDA-funded research examines media-science interactions in agriculture, and he leads a multi-state initiative to enhance science communication in Agricultural, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR).

Awards & Recognition: A two-time winner of the Journal of Applied Communications' Article of the Year, he has received numerous teaching awards, including the Jack Justus Outstanding Teaching Award and Baum Teaching Award finalist distinction. His mentorship was honored with the University Gold Medal Award.

Advising & Leadership: Served as National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow’s faculty adviser and currently chairs key professional committees. Oversees the Agricultural Communications Experiential Learning Lab and coordinates international internship programs in the UK.

Labs & Initiatives: Directs the Experiential Learning Lab and promotes global academic partnerships through U.K. study tours and internship exchanges.
