Professor Jean-Emmanuel PONDI is a prominent academic and administrator at the University of Yaounde I, Cameroon, where he currently serves as Vice Rector responsible for Research, Cooperation, and Relations with the Business World. He previously held roles such as Secretary General of the University (2006-2017) and Director of the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) (1999-2006). A distinguished scholar, he holds a PhD from Pennsylvania State University (1986), alongside degrees from Cambridge University (Pembroke College, 1983) and the London School of Economics (1981).
His expertise spans Political Science and International Relations, with a focus on African regional integration, diplomacy, and global governance. He has authored or edited 22 books and published over 70 scientific articles in renowned journals. His recent engagements include lectures on the creation of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) and interviews addressing topics like the impact of the African Continental Free Trade Area and responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
