Jay Neal, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, where he taught for over 15 years. He currently serves as the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Operating Officer for the University of Houston at Sugar Land and Katy, and previously held the role of Interim Director at the Hilton College in San Antonio.

- B.S. and Master’s in Hotel and Restaurant Management, University of Houston
His research and professional expertise span food safety, microbiology, and hospitality management, informed by his academic background and industry experience in the food and beverage sector. He is actively engaged in culinary science through memberships in organizations like the International Association of Food Protection and the Research Chefs Association.
