Jaume Gomis

Jaume Gomis is a Research Professor at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, a leading independent research institution. He holds adjunct professorships at the University of Waterloo and University of Western Ontario. His research focuses on nonperturbative dynamics of gauge theories, string theory, and holographic formulations of quantum gravity, with a particular emphasis on dualities and mathematical structures underlying these frameworks.

Previously, he served as a Sherman Fairchild Senior Research Fellow at the California Institute of Technology (2002–2004) and held postdoctoral positions there (1999–2002). Notable awards include the CAP-CRM Prize (2019), Early Researcher Awards (Ontario, 2009), and the Sherman Fairchild Fellowship (2002). His academic journey includes a Highest Academic Achievement Award from the University of Texas at Austin (1995).

Dr. Gomis actively contributes to teaching through lectures such as Quantum Field Theory III at the Perimeter Scholars International (PSI) program, integrating advanced theoretical concepts with pedagogical rigor. His work bridges high-energy physics and mathematical physics, with recent publications exploring surface operators in holography and anomalies in quantum systems.
