Jason Smith is Associate Professor in Economics and Finance and Director of China Cooperative Academic Programs at Utah State University's Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis and previously taught at the University of Kentucky.
His research examines theoretical/empirical corporate finance, information economics, and financial markets, with recent work on bank bailouts and agricultural biotechnology licensing. Smith received the 2012 Jensen Prize for his work on cash flows and leverage adjustments. He teaches courses in corporate finance, financial economics, and risk management at undergraduate, MBA, and MSFE levels.
