Professor Jason König is a Professor in the School of Classics at the University of St Andrews. He specializes in Greek literature and culture of the Roman Empire, late Hellenistic literature, and environmental studies in antiquity. He has held leadership roles including Head of the School of Classics (2014–2019) and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (2024).

Research focuses on ancient environmental representation, encyclopaedic writing, and the interplay between Greco-Roman and early Christian literature. Notable works include *The Folds of Olympus* (2022) and *Saints and Symposiasts* (2012). Current projects involve mountain studies in antiquity and a biography of Edward Daniel Clarke.
Honors include the London Hellenic Prize shortlist (2022) and the Hare Prize (2001). He leads the Leverhulme Trust-funded 'Mountains in ancient literature' project (2017–2023), producing interdisciplinary work on cultural geography.
