Jason Coronel

Dr. Jason Coronel is Associate Professor and Undergraduate Communication Program Director at Ohio State University's School of Communication. His interdisciplinary research examines how citizens learn and use civic and scientific information, employing eye-tracking technology to study political learning and decision-making.

Research focuses:

• Real-time indicators of political comprehension
• Prediction of voting behavior through eye movements
• Misinformation generation and transmission
• Science communication effectiveness

His innovative work has demonstrated that eye movements can predict real-world voting decisions on ballot measures with millions of voters. Research combines neuroscience, communication theory, and political psychology to understand democratic decision-making processes.

Honors include the Walter Lippmann Best Article Award from APSA and top paper awards from communication associations. He serves on editorial boards for the Journal of Communication and Communication Research.
