Jason Badura is an Associate Professor of Politics & Law at Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC), part of the School of Social Sciences. He joined WLC full-time in 2014 and has extensive teaching experience in the Midwest. His expertise spans global politics, political philosophy, and global political economy. He advises pre-law students, coordinates the 3+3 accelerated law program with Marquette University, and coaches the Mock Trial team.
Badura holds a B.A. in Political Science from Gustavus Adolphus College (1994), an M.A. (2003), and a Ph.D. (2008) in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His research focuses on mass media effects, public opinion dynamics, voting behavior, regime transitions, and international conflict. He has presented at multiple Midwest Political Science Association conferences and co-authored a seminal study on militarized interstate disputes.
He has received the 2024 WLC Greenfield Award for Faculty Excellence and served as a German-American Fulbright Scholar in Berlin (2009). Beyond academia, he leads international study tours to Central Europe and actively engages in college governance through roles like Chair of the School of Social Sciences and member of the General Education Committee.
