About
Dr Jasmin Kirkbride is a Lecturer in Publishing at City St George's, University of London, where she teaches across the BA in English and MA programs in Publishing, International Publishing, and Creative Writing and Publishing. She is also a Humanities Visiting Research Fellow at the University of East Anglia (UEA), reflecting her active engagement in interdisciplinary research.
Her educational background includes a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing (UEA, 2023), an MA in Creative Writing: Prose (UEA, 2019), an MA in Ancient History (King's College London, 2013), and a BA in Classical Studies (King's College London, 2012).
Jasmin’s research lies at the intersection of literature and environmental crisis, with a focus on ecocriticism, climate fiction, and radical hope. She explores how narrative forms—particularly dystopian fiction and haiku—can express emotional resilience and cultural responses to the climate emergency. Her work bridges creative practice and critical theory, often manifesting in hybrid scholarly-creative outputs.
The analysis of her recent publications reveals a consistent trajectory in environmental humanities, with strong emphasis on climate narratives, literary form evolution, and interdisciplinary ecocritical methods. Her work appears in journals such as The Cormac McCarthy Journal and LOGOS, and she is co-editing a special issue of Green Letters. She frequently presents at major conferences including ASLE-UKI and UEA’s Creative Writing futures events.
