About
Dr. Jared Campbell is a Research Fellow in the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering at UNSW. His work focuses on advancing non-invasive diagnostic technologies through hyperspectral assessment of cell autofluorescence, particularly in aging, stem cell biology, and chronic disease contexts. He collaborates widely across disciplines, including clinical and engineering teams.
Research interests include: cellular autofluorescence imaging, stem cell aging mechanisms, diagnostic tool development for neurodegenerative diseases, infertility biology, and metabolic plasticity in reproductive cells. His technology adaptations aim to translate lab findings into clinical diagnostic tools.
Recent articles highlight advancements in immune cell analysis, mesenchymal stromal cell characterization, and ophthalmic oncology diagnostics. Notable projects involve AI-enhanced imaging for ocular neoplasia detection and label-free pancreatic islet viability assessment.
Labs/Teams: Active in interdisciplinary teams at UNSW's Biomedical Engineering, collaborating with groups in stem cell research (Gronthos), reproductive biology (Gilchrist), and photonics (Goldys). His lab develops novel optical diagnostic platforms.
