Jared Bullard, MD, FRCPC, is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He serves as Associate Medical Director of the Cadham Provincial Laboratory and holds cross appointments in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. His research focuses on pediatric infectious diseases, including SARS-CoV-2 infectivity, congenital syphilis, HIV/STBBI prevention, and molecular diagnostics. His work has influenced global public health guidelines, including those from the WHO, CDC, and UK agencies.
Bullard’s affiliations include the Centre on Aging, Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM), Manitoba Centre for Nursing and Health Research (MCNHR), and Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research Evidence Alliance (SPOR). He leads national studies like the Canadian Paediatric Surveillance Program for Congenital Syphilis and co-investigates projects such as CANCOVID-Preg, examining immunity in pregnant individuals during the pandemic.
Bullard has received several awards for his leadership and teaching, including the 2020 Pediatric Chairs of Canada COVID Leadership Award and multiple nominations for teaching excellence.
