Janine Randerson

Janine Randerson is an Associate Professor at AUT University, Aotearoa New Zealand. She is a media artist, writer, and curator focusing on art-science collaborations, particularly addressing climate change and environmental issues. Her work involves partnerships with Indigenous communities (tangata whenua), environmental scientists, and urban meteorologists. Since 2022, she has curated projects for Te Tuhi (Auckland) as part of the World Weather Network, emphasizing the evolving climate through art and performances. She hosts LASER talks (Leonardo Art-Science Evening Rendezvous) and authored the influential book Weather as Medium: Toward a Meteorological Art (MIT Press, 2018).

Her research explores intersections between art, meteorology, and Indigenous knowledge systems, advocating for creative responses to environmental challenges.
