Janine Lamb is an Associate Professor and Reader in Complex Human Genetics/Genomics at the University of Manchester's Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. She leads research in genetic susceptibility of autoimmune diseases like myositis, interstitial lung disease, and autism, with a focus on precision medicine. Her work involves large international consortia such as the Myositis Genetics Consortium and UK-BILD project.
Education: BSc Pharmacology (Manchester, 1993), DPhil Molecular Genetics (Oxford, 2001). Postdoctoral research at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics (2001–2006).
Research interests include identifying genetic and serological markers for disease stratification. Current projects address cancer risk in myositis, biomarkers for ILD, and genetic factors in autism. She co-leads the Manchester Myositis Research Group and contributes to translational medicine training programs.
