Janicke Rasmussen

Janicke Rasmussen is an Associate Professor at BI Norwegian Business School's Department of Accounting, Auditing and Corporate Finance. She holds leadership roles including former Dean of Master's programs (2014–2022) and QTEM Dean (2016–2024). Her expertise spans corporate governance, sustainability reporting, and board dynamics. She earned a Ph.D. from Cass Business School (2010) after completing Master's degrees in Management (Norwegian School of Economics, 1990) and Business (Heriot-Watt University, 1989).

Her research focuses on how corporate boards respond to sustainability expectations, CEO dismissal patterns, and governance effectiveness. Recent work analyzes Norwegian listed companies' ESG reporting strategies, finding a focus on control mechanisms over strategic innovation. She explores metaphors of 'human sacrifice' in CEO removals, linking performance slumps to symbolic leadership accountability.

Rasmussen has published in journals like International Studies of Management and Organization and contributed to books on global governance frameworks. Her work often bridges accounting practices with broader organizational and societal impacts. She has advised on supply chain risk management and leadership transitions, emphasizing adaptability in turbulent environments.
