Janice L. Pearson is the Dean of San Joaquin College of Law and holds the academic rank of Professor of Law. She has been serving as Dean since her appointment in 1985. Prior to this role, she worked at Fresno-Merced Counties Legal Services, Inc., serving as Staff Attorney, Managing Attorney, and Interim Director from 1976 to 1984. She has taught Torts and contributed to legal education through her co-authored work, *FORECLOSURE LAW MANUAL*.
Dean Pearson’s career has been recognized through numerous awards, including the YWCA/Fresno Bee Outstanding Business/Professional Woman of the Year Competition Finalist (1990), Fresno Women Lawyers’ Justice Pauline Hanson Award (1992), Fresno County Bar Association Liberty Bell Award (1993), and the Soroptimist Women Helping Women Award (2001).
Her professional focus spans foreclosure law, clinical legal practice, administrative law, and legal services advocacy. She earned her J.D. and B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
