Jane Tingley

Jane Tingley is an Associate Professor and Chair of Computational Arts at the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD) at York University. She holds an MFA and BFA, focusing on interdisciplinary practices merging art, science, and technology. Her work explores interactive installations, performative robotics, and telematically connected sculpture, emphasizing accessible experiences at the intersection of science and art.

Her research interests include creating immersive environments that bridge interactivity, playfulness, and intellectual engagement. Key achievements include exhibitions at venues like the National Art Museum of China (Beijing), Elektra Festival (Montréal), and Künstlerhause (Vienna). She has received prestigious awards such as the Kenneth Finkelstein Prize and support from the Canada Council for the Arts and SSHRC.
