Jane Rachael Kohlhoff serves as Associate Professor at UNSW School of Psychiatry and Karitane Director of Research, holding a Paul Ramsay Foundation Fellowship. Her academic career spans perinatal, infant, and early childhood mental health with a focus on attachment-based interventions.
Her research interests center on perinatal mental health, attachment theory applications, and early intervention development for disruptive behaviors in toddlers. She pioneered the Parent-Child Interaction Therapy-Toddler (PCIT-Toddler) program and investigates intergenerational transmission of parenting through biological and environmental factors.
Kohlhoff has secured substantial funding including ARC Linkage Grants, NHMRC projects, and MRFF grants focusing on equitable child health access. Her work spans international collaborations in Vietnam and Arabic-speaking communities.
