Jananie William

Dr Jananie William is a Senior Lecturer in Actuarial Studies at the Australian National University (ANU), affiliated with the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies & Statistics. She holds additional roles as a Research Affiliate with the Global Institute of Women's Leadership (ANU) and Advisor to The Social Outcomes Lab. Her work focuses on actuarial applications to public health and policy issues affecting women, including domestic violence, maternal health, and the gender pay gap.

Education: BActSt (Hons), BCom, PhD. She previously worked in actuarial roles in general insurance and investment advisory in Australia and the UK.

Research emphasizes cross-disciplinary teams to address systemic issues like health economic impacts of domestic violence and income security for women. Notable projects include analyzing lifetime health costs of intimate partner violence and scoping business models for social impact.

Awards include CBE and Vice Chancellor's Teaching Excellence Awards (Early Career). Active research projects span 2021–2026, including 'Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies' and a literature review on social impact business models.
