Jan Rupp

Jan Rupp is a Professor at the University of Lübeck and affiliated with the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH), where he serves as a principal investigator of project 8. He is a member of the Executive Board of the TTU HAARBI/German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) and the CAPNETZ Executive Board.

Rupp leads research on microbiome dynamics in preterm infants, evidenced by his 2018 publication in Clinical infectious diseases analyzing gut dysbiosis preceding late-onset sepsis. His work spans infection biology, microbial ecology, and clinical immunology.

He is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and collaborates with institutions including the Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel, Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology, and Research Center Borstel – Leibniz Lung Center.
