Jan Podacker

Jan Podacker is a Researcher in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He is affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and is part of the Theoretical Philosophy Group led by Prof. Dr. Dirk Hartmann. His research focuses on Epistemology, Philosophy of Science, Action Theory, Logic, and Philosophical Methodology, particularly concept formation. He has coordinated the dokFORUM Humanities and initiated efforts to promote scholarship proposals within the Faculty of Humanities. He is also a member of the Conflict Committee and the Doctoral Committee.

Podacker has taught a variety of courses, including seminars on Kant, Quine, and Brandom, as well as introductory courses on logic, epistemology, and philosophical methods. His teaching spans over a decade, covering topics from advanced logic to the philosophical analysis of market concepts and social structures.

He is actively involved in academic activities such as organizing block seminars and contributing to interdisciplinary discussions on pragmatics, epistemology, and cultural philosophy.
