Prof. Dirk Hartmann is a full professor of Philosophy at the University of Duisburg-Essen's Faculty of Humanities, leading the Theoretical Philosophy Group. Born in 1964, he holds a doctorate (1992) and habilitation (1997) in Philosophy. His academic journey includes roles as a DFG research fellow, visiting scholar at UC Berkeley (2001–2002), and since 2004, he holds a C4 professorship focusing on theoretical philosophy. He has received prestigious fellowships like the Feodor Lynen (2001) and Werner Heisenberg (2001, unaccepted).
